CCW Readiness Self-Assessment

To ensure you are prepared for the state-mandated curriculum and range qualification, please review the following benchmarks. To get the most out of this course, you should be able to answer “Yes” to all of the following:

• Safety Mastery: Can you consistently demonstrate the four cardinal rules of firearm safety without being reminded?
• Operational Knowledge: Are you familiar with the specific make and model of the firearm you intend to use (e.g., how to load, unload, and clear basic malfunctions)?
• Marksmanship Consistency: Can you consistently place shots within a standard target at 5 to 7 yards?
• Range Etiquette: Are you comfortable following “line commands” from an instructor in a group environment?
• Mental Readiness: Are you prepared to discuss the legal, ethical, and tactical complexities of carrying a firearm in public?

If you answered “No” to any of the above, we highly recommend scheduling a Basics and Beyond session prior to this CCW course. Our goal is your success and safety; arriving with these foundational skills ensures you can focus entirely on the legal and defensive responsibilities of a permit holder.
